The Art of Heather Hansma
Mario Bun | Toadstool Bun | Luigi Bun from Heather’s poster for the “Happy Serum” group show in June 2011
Creator of Puff Buns™, Heather is a Detroit, MI based illustrator. It’s well worth the time to check out this artist’s portfolio and Flickr for shots of her work. If you’re in Royal Oak, MI on Saturday February 4th, 2012, it’s probably worth checking out LOVESICK with Heather, Cody Schibi, and Josh Buckenberger at LIFT. Love the paintings and earrings above? Many of these works are available in the artist’s Etsy shop at very reasonable prices. For more from Heather Hansma, you can follow her Website | Shop | Flickr | Twitter
Art for Sale from Cody Schibi
I’m a little scared of what goes on in illustrator Cody Schibi’s mind. Above are some of the illustrations and more from Coby, all available at extremely reasonable prices. I specifically love his “Monster MugShots” series. This artist will be joining Heather Hansma and Josh Buckenberger for the LOVESICK gallery show at LIFT in Michigan on February 4th, 2012. Custom MAD*L Toys by Ryan “Reactor-88” Crippen
“Totem TMNT Mad*L”
“Dancing Salmon,” “Soaring Hawk,” and “Wise Toad” Totem MadLs
“SDCC Spade-Skull Mad-L” and “Recon-Bot Mad-L” Since Ryan has done a pretty great job blogging almost all of his work, you can click most titles above to read what the artist says about each piece. Unfortunately for interested collectors, none of these are available for purchase (most were sold over the last five years) BUT as I type this eight total custom toys are available in the artist’s store with four being discounted. What’s your favorite Reactor-88 MAD*L? For me, it’s the third custom from the top, the “Wood Totem Mad-L.” However, they are all really excellent. Custom MAD*L Toys by Leecifer
Leecifer can paint amazing characters on anything, but seems to have done quite well with this platform. First up is a series of “Pumpkin Boy” MAD*Ls plus an “Eve of the Hallows” Fatima, created for Gallery 1988’s “Monster Art Rally” group show in October 2008. Next up is a custom of “Wilykit,” who is a female Thundercat. That piece was created as a commission and shots appear to have been released in June 2009. The final set of images are of “The Great Madlkin,” created for LIFT’s “MadL Citizens” group show in October 2008. You can see shots from this show here.
