Recent Customs by Walter “Chauskoskis” Jacott (@Chauskoskis)
Between the third and fourth customs above, Kidrobot released a limited run of 3” Birro Dunnys which sold out fairly quickly to the KR Message Board members who were given an exclusive link with which to make their purchases. It was a pretty cool move from Kidrobot and well-deserved given how impressive Chauskoskis’s work is. The Bronze Birdo is currently available for purchase from the Blamo Toys store. Each title above is clickable to Walter’s blog entries about each figure. His custom Playsam was sent to Super7 for a themed show which began April 28th, but it’s super lame that it wasn’t displayed due to its supposed delicate nature. You can read about it on Walter’s Twitter page. New Custom Dunnys, Big Sal, and Labbit from Josh “fplus” Pearce
“Blood archer of the f+ clan”
“Mini Rose Shade Dunny”
“Spirit Bender of the Crystalline Theater”
“Ice Kiss Mammophant” About the Ice Kiss Mammophant, from the artist (via):
“Mammophants, normally fairly passive creatures in nature, are often used as siege beasts because they are tough, can carry tremendous amounts of weight, and are not easily shaken by combat. A well bred Mammophant, is a powerful tool for any army. The Ice’s Kiss mammophant, is native to the arctic plains of Ghalaed, where it is not only frozen outside, but also on the inside of the large beast. This species of mammophant carries a chilling wind in it’s lungs that when unleashed, will freeze it’s prey solid where it stands. This mammophant is armored in the gilding of the Queen’s personal army, and has a catapult mounted on it’s back to throw small gliding bombers from it’s back.” Taking a brief pause from making his “The Corrupter” figure a reality since receiving full funding through Kickstarter, fplus attacked some of his pending commissions. He just wrapped up a Sub Zero Jaws Figure too, leading to a very impressive couple of weeks. I love all of these pieces but the “Spirit Bender of the Crystalline Theater” strikes me as my favorite Big Sal custom to date. fplus on the internet: Website | Store | @fplus on Twitter | Flickr. “Chop Top” and “Red Stripe” Custom Super7 Mummy Boys by Valleydweller
Just like Nikejerk’s Mummy Boys, these figures were customized for Super7’s upcoming Mummy Boy show on January 28th, 2012. I don’t have any other info about these pieces, but in Valleydweller news - this artist went from opening a store a few months ago to having it fully stocked! “Opti-Mummy” and “Mummy Bee” Custom Mummy Boys by Jared “Nikejerk” Cain
From the artist (via):
“This is something a little different. Super7 is hosting a Mummy Boy paint contest at their store debuting next Saturday the 28th and I had time to paint up 2 submissions for the show: 1 Mascot and 1 pocket. I haven’t painted alot of soft vinyl and unlike most of the work I do these are only themed by their color palette and nothing more. Most Super 7 figures have typical Japanese-like color sprays and I can’t think of a single figure they did in a rub style, so we’ll see how my paint application goes over with the judges of the show. Having finished several 3A pieces just a few months back I carried over that application technique to these 2 figures and I’m very happy with how they turned out.” More info on the Super7 show can be found here. In other Nikejerk news, this artist has been documenting the development of his Most Wanted 3 Dunny design! The posts are as follows: 1 | 2 | 3 | 4. Jared is quite the innovator!
