Pocketwookie’s “Gin” Custom Foomi (@Pocket_Wookie)

pocketwookie_may_1st.jpg

Very cute! This guy is up for voting in Kidrobot’s 2012 Munnyworld Megacontest, which concludes May 31st. For a few reasons, this will be one of only two total Munnyworld submissions we will be covering this year - the second to come this Monday. Artist Peter Morris is keeping a fairly short list for the number of customs he intends to release in 2012, so whoever ends up owning this Foomi will be or is quite lucky. I don’t plug our articles too hard in blog posts, but this interview is well worth the time to read - we hammered Pocketwookie with a lot of questions and he provided some great responses. We’re very excited to see what this artist releases next!

8 inch “Sanctum” Dunny

The titles above are clickable to large Flickr sets for multiple shots of each item. The artist’s Bellicose Bunny custom is currently available for $850 and his Dragon Boy can be bought for $888 from Dragatomi. It’s quite cool to see such varied platforms used - I particularly like his sold My Little Pony custom, which would have been a fairly peculiar toy to work on if not for the Toy Art Gallery show “My Little Pony Project,” which concludes May 26th, 2012.

Artmymind is clearly taking Kidrobot customs to a higher level with their work, and it is then no surprise that everything they create sells immediately. It’s exciting to keep an eye on Kidrobot’s Show-Off Forum to see which collectors snagged customs and who owns the most Artmymind pieces, Moonshot having a large percent of their releases. If you want to purchase something from the duo, your best bet is to subscribe to their newsletter from their website and keep an eye on your inbox. Some images via and via.

The custom above was created for Most Wanted’s first gallery show that opened on May 11th, 2012 at the 1:AM Gallery in San Francisco, California. It sold quickly for $460 and deservingly so. For more info on the Most Wanted Series and their releases, this thread is well worth reading.
