While much has been said online about most if not all customs above, what really catches my eye is the “Autumn Deer” for Supahcute’s “Art Too Cute for Words” group show running until June 24th, which has already sold. Gary is definitely one of the most impressive toy artists - given he frequently uses wood that he has cut and shaped himself, paints beautifully, and releases big pieces often.

Nikejerk's "Matryoshka Yo Ho!" Custom Dunny Set (@nikejerk)

The images above show sculpted and painted 20 inch, 8 inch, 3 inch, and mini Dunnys - all being sold as a set for $3000. Matryoshka Yo Ho! and a second set without the 20” Dunny were created for the Most Wanted: Behind the Hype gallery show at 1:AM in San Francisco, California. Other customs from the same event can be purchased online from the gallery’s store.

I’m not going to say who is what between these two, but lets just try and be a little bit better from now on yeah?”

So good. This is the first Skonk custom we’ve covered, and after seeing how well this guy turned out I would love to have seen more. Produced by Patch Together, I only can find one Skonk from the figure’s designer, Okkle - and it would be a sin to strip and paint as it’s a custom.

Love it! You can see progress shots in this Kidrobot forum thread, which is a fairly brave decision as it was his most sculpted piece to date. You can vote for this piece in Kidrobot’s 2012 Munnyworld Megacontest right now and have until May 31st, 2012. Due to time restrictions, an inclination to pick our favorites, and to support one of our favorite artists - we’ve decided this will be the second of only two 2012 Munnyworld entry that we’ll be posting. “Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow from Avengers painted on 3 inch vinyl dunny toy. I noticed that there is not many customs of this character on internet, so I decided to create one. Here she is. I am going to see the movie at cinema tonight.”

While the Black Widow wasn’t the most exciting character from The Avengers film, the piece above is a fairly accurate depiction of the comic book hero.

Very cute! This guy is up for voting in Kidrobot’s 2012 Munnyworld Megacontest, which concludes May 31st. For a few reasons, this will be one of only two total Munnyworld submissions we will be covering this year - the second to come this Monday. Artist Peter Morris is keeping a fairly short list for the number of customs he intends to release in 2012, so whoever ends up owning this Foomi will be or is quite lucky. I don’t plug our articles too hard in blog posts, but this interview is well worth the time to read - we hammered Pocketwookie with a lot of questions and he provided some great responses. We’re very excited to see what this artist releases next!

It’s quite cool to see such varied platforms used - I particularly like his sold My Little Pony custom, which would have been a fairly peculiar toy to work on if not for the Toy Art Gallery show “My Little Pony Project,” which concludes May 26th, 2012.

"Lucky" 18 inch My Little Pony Figure by 64 Colors (@64Colors)

Got $3k to drop on an 18” custom? If so, Toy Art Gallery currently has “Lucky” available on their website. It’s obviously a very cool piece, one of the best unsold customs from the show still left, and given it’s length it is larger than an 18” Mega-Munny - but that price tag still strikes me as a little high. I’m assuming that number is because TAG is getting their gallery cut, but I’m also assuming that if it doesn’t sell it’ll end up in 64 Colors’ online store for less. On the bright side, if it sells before the show concludes it will say something fairly positive about the health of the custom toy world and moreso about the dedication fans have for 64 Colors art. The “My Little Pony Project” began May 5th, 2012 and will run until May 26th at the Toy Art Gallery in Los Angeles, California. You can purchase other available pieces from their online store.

WANT! With Diablo III dropping in about a week, this Canadian artist tackled a class I’m very excited to play soon. Outside of the fun topic, this piece is both well sculpted and painted. Supposedly created in a limited edition of 10 and selling for $1,200/each, one could purchase a JACK from Fully Visual. I added 15 to the cart to see if it’s limited to one per customer and if not, how many are left and found a very curious result - only TWELVE are left! See my screenshots above. I don’t know what’s going on, but I am assuming this is an innocent error. I don’t have an e-mail or twitter account for Fully Visual, so if anyone knows the people behind it - please ask and let me know. Regardless, this is a very cool item and shots of the production process are available on their blog. Images via.

Brave Vinylmation Series Coming May 4th

Recently Disney brought an exclusive store to their Vinylmation Facebook page. That means they will be releasing limited edition figures exclusively or first to that page to benefit their online fans. I’m particularly excited for their four-part Brave set above, created for those looking forward to the June 22nd, 2012 premiere. I don’t fully understand releasing the set on May 4th, 2012 - which is so much earlier than the movie, because if people don’t like the film they’ll be stuck with merchandise they wouldn’t appreciate. One may respond that at least Disney will get their money and then it’s not their problem BUT this release will be following a handful of 9” Vinylmations that must have sold so poorly that they are now deeply discounted online. I think for both Vinylmation collectors and flippers that this release will be a decent way to judge the health of that niche. Good luck Disney! Image via.

This artist’s characters all share a goofy fun aesthetic. “Shi Wa Raisu” and “Bubbles” are my favorites of this bunch, but they are all well executed. All but one of the titles are clickable to a Flickr set for more shots and occasionally some additional information. This Mexican customizer has released a fair amount more than these and this is the first of two mega-posts.

Starting from the bottom and going up, the commissioned Coarse Jaws was done up in the style of his “Rupture” design from Kidrobot’s Ye Olde English series. The top two were original sculpts created for the “Monsters & Misfits II” group show in Takayama, Japan. The show began April 13th, and you can check out the show preview here. Pretty much everything has sold, including all of Doktor A’s customs - but there are a few items from the event one could call or e-mail to purchase. You can also snag prints from the Circus Posterus crew at $30/each or $125 for a set of five.

Originally a rejected design for the Most Wanted 3 series, artist Jared Cain decided to create it anyway as a one-off. He then put it up on his blog saying first to comment could buy it for $65 shipped and it was purchased within one minute! The concept of a nesting doll Dunny is very cool and I’m going to have to see more shots of his MW3 “Arrrrr-Manda” to see if it is much better but I think the Yeti would have been a fantastic contribution to the series.
